Isaac's First Deer!!

Isaac has been very interested in hunting and fishing for a couple of years, but he has not had very many opportunities to do both. Then when we moved to Lawrence County in July that is what his new friends do all the time. :) Isaac's interest has been heightened from being around these new friends.

God has blessed us with 10 acres at our new home and a great place for Isaac to hunt and fish. He was on our land and was by himself when he killed this deer. I would have never thought he would kill a deer. Ha! He did a GREAT job, so proud of him! He came running up to the house to get Bryan, Isaac was so excited!!

Piano Recital

Saturday morning Isaac and Sarah had a piano recital. Since the grandparents were here we thought we would make a day of fun and memories. Our day started at Shelbyville Mills Baptist Church where we listened to Isaac and Sarah display the things they had learned during their piano lessons during the past year and a half.

Sarah started taking piano while we were in Alabama. So when we came to Tennessee we wanted her to continue those lessons. We had a very hard time finding someone. Then God sent us a sweet lady in our church that plays the piano at SMBC. Mrs. Jenny has been wonderful! Sarah enjoys the piano and has done very well!

Isaac taking piano lessons started out with him wanting to take guitar lessons. We told him he had to take a few months of piano before we would allow him to take piano lessons. One and a half years later he has done so good at piano and loves it!

Isaac and Sarah have learned so much from Mrs. Jenny and have made a dear friend. We are so proud of Isaac and Sarah and thankful for Mrs. Jenny's time and dedication. Our prayer is that we will be able to find a good piano teacher in Lawrenceburg for our kids.

Lego Building

The kids got several Lego sets for Christmas. They have been building and having lots of fun. I thought I would take some pictures of their creations.

 

 

 

 

 

All the kids could play all day with their Legos! I know they will be building more so I will post more pictures again.

 

I love it that they love building. Elijah has already been asking for another set for his birthday (in May). Timothy got a really cute set with a book for Christmas and I am going to try and find him another one for his birthday.

 

Speaking of birthday's...our baby will be 2 tomorrow!! More about that later! :)

Cupcake

Last night Sarah had art class and they painted cupcakes. This one is going up in the kitchen also! She has had so much fun doing this, probably too much fun (LOL)! The lady that leads these classes is going to do some during the summer so I am sure we will be doing a few of those. Sarah was so excited about this painting from the beginning. Last week she was so worried that she had missed painting the cupcake that I had to get out a calendar and show her that she had not missed it. :) So here it is, the Cupcake!!

Sarah and Elijah are really close and they love doing things together and for each other. When she showed him her painting he asked her why did she put cherries on top. She told him that she wasn't sure she knew how to do a blueberry (he LOVES blueberries), but that one cherry was for her and one was for him. Isn't that sweet? He was quick to point out that the big one was for him and the little one was for her!! Too funny!! I love these kids!!

Pizza Painting

Sarah had art class last night and they painted a picture of pizza. I thought she did a great job on this. I have it in my kitchen and she had so much fun painting it. She has been saying she wants to be an artist. I think she has potential.

Isaac is playing football this year. This is something new for us. He has played baseball, basketball and soccer but this is our first year playing football. If you know Isaac you know that he is really in to football and loves football. For his birthday he got football trading cards and you would have thought that he got a million dollars. Anyway we decided to let him play this year and really tried to talk him out of it, but he insisted that this was what he wanted to do. Well it has been more than he ever thought. They practice every day except Wednesday and Friday for two hours a day. Before school started they practiced every day! Games are on Saturday and no telling where they will be....some are even going to be an hour or so away! He has had some tough times but he has hung in there and Bryan said that last night at practice Isaac did the best he has ever done. Of coarse with him being one of the smaller ones and this being his first year he doesn't get to play a whole lot, but if he keeps giving it his best he will play more and more. I will be honest....I do not like football!! It is not my favorite sport, but because of Isaac I am learning and look forward to seeing him on the field. I am very proud of him for trying and hanging in there even when it isn't that great. He told one of his friends the other day that he was playing football, he said that he liked it but it wasn't great! I will keep you posted on pictures and how the season is going.

A Sewing Project!

I have been wanting and needing some Blue Jean carpi's, did I mention maternity. So I thought that maybe I should splurge and buy some. Oh my, do you know how much maternity clothes cost? I ventured to the maternity store only to find out that the cost of maternity carpi's or shorts was $35. OUCH!!! Needless to say I left that store and said that I could just do without! Then it came to me that I could make my own! I went to the consignment sale that was going on here and purchased a pair of nice maternity blue jeans for $3 (that is more in my price range). I came home and put into practice the sewing know how that my mother-in-law and my mother have given me. I got out the scissors and cut those blue jeans off, got out the sewing machine and began sewing. Well, above I have posted pictures of the results. I thought for my first time they turned out pretty good (and even). What do you think?

Pregnancy note: I went to the Dr. last Thursday and we go to hear the heartbeat. It was so awesome! Everything is going very well. I will be 17 weeks on Wednesday and my belly is growing by the week!! LOL! I will go back the end of August for the big sonogram. Of coarse we will all go so that everyone can see the new family member. We will not be finding out the sex of the baby, so that will be a surprise. I will keep you posted! My first...

sewing projest. I have had a desire to learn to sew and be able to sew Sarah a dress or something. But I have never really tried and the one time I did try...let's just say I have NO clue of even where to begin. Well recently I have felt that I needed to learn to sew so I could teach my children to sew, something I never learned. So I decided I should start somewhere. I had heard that the simpliest thing to make would be a "pilow case" dress. Well I came up with the material on clearance at Wal-Mart, some thread and an idea in my head of what it should look like. Well you can see in the pictures the outcome...it's not perfect but it is a start. What do you think?

Our Big Fisherman!!

Wanted to share with everyone pictures of our BIG fisherman!! Like I have said before Isaac loves to fish. For his birthday he got tons of fishing stuff! This past Saturday Bryan (my hubby), Paw (my dad) and Isaac went fishing and had a great time. Isaac got to try out some of his new fishing gear and he caught this bass! He just loved reeling it in. You can see he is kissing this fish good-bye! Bryan filleted the fish and we will eat it soon. I know that my dad and Bryan have enjoyed watching Isaac have fun and are glad to be making some memories, even if they don't catch alot of fish.
