Christmas with The Camps

We were not able to spend time in Alabama at Thanksgiving because...We were moving in to our new home!!! Sad that we would not get to see family but very happy to be moving OUT of the camper and into a HOUSE!

We also wanted to be home for Christmas since this would be our first Christmas in our new home...so that meant we would not be in Alabama with family at Christmas either. We did make a trip down before Christmas to see family and deliver our gifts. Our first stop was to Bryan's older brother's home. We got to see them and visit with them. We surprised them and didn't tell them we were coming. :) Then we headed to my parents to spend the night and spend time with them. The next day we headed to Bryan's parents house and got to spend time with his Youngest brother and his family. They have three boys and we always love getting the kids together to play.
Above is our kids with the three cousins (Rusty and Candice's boys). Love this picture...that couch is FULL! :)
Below is a few of the kids opening presents and playing...FUN!
Then we spent the night with Bryan's parents and the next morning opened presents with them.
Here is Joanna opening her present from Pop and Gigi while wearing her ear warmer from Rusty and Candice's family.
Timothy opening a present from Pop and Gigi.
Elijah received the game "Operation" from Pop and Gigi. Jameson (on the left), Timothy, and Elijah are always together when our families are together. So sweet!
Isaac was tickled to receive a pocket knife and orange tabogin from Pop and Gigi.
Sarah enjoys opening the card as much as opening the present.

We are very thankful that we got to spend time with family in Alabama. We are also looking forward to them coming here for a visit. :)

The Wood Floors

We have been so blessed with our home and are very thankful for all that God has provided! When we first started talking about flooring we were going to go with laminate wood which we have had at a previous house. Then God blessed us with these white oak wood floors...amazing! The boards came from a lumber yard and arrived in 14 foot boards. Bryan and our contractor decided that the best way to lay them would be cutting them into smaller boards.

Below is the boards in place with no coating on them.
Below is the "Water lock" being applied to the floors.
Below is the final flooring in the Living Room area (with paper down to make sure the floors were good and dry before we walked on them too much).
The floors took way longer to lay and were more challenging to lay than we thought, but we are super pleased!! Love the flooring! VERY thankful!

Isaac's Second Deer

Back in November Isaac killed his second deer! He was so excited and we were proud of him. :) It was a spike and we are enjoying some good ole deer meat. YUM!!

Another Addition to the Family

We have adopted a dog. This is Charlie. :) While in AL we picked him up from my uncle who knew that Charlie needed more room to run around than his subdivision back yard. Charlie was so hyper when we picked him up. Since being here he has calmed way down and has even lost some weight. :)
That brings our grand total to 3 dogs and 1 cat.
Here is a picture of the dogs laying in the sun. It was an adjustment at first but now things are good. All the animals get along and Isaac has done a great job training the dogs. At night he will say "Go to bed." and they all three go to the dog pen. Amazing!
