Fun at Six-Flags!

For a few years now our kids have been participating in the reading program with Six-Flags. If they read 6 hours or more they get a free ticket to Six-Flags. When they turn 13 they are no longer eligible. Our kids love to read and really enjoy Six-Flags so this was a great treat for them!
My parents only live one and a half hours from Six-Flags so they are able to keep Joanna for us. We had a great time and it was so much fun watching these four kids have fun!
Here we are...on our way out of the park. We ended up riding lots of rides and some we were able to ride more than once. Lines were not long and some of the rides there was no wait at all. It was HOT that day but not too bad. Next time we are taking Joanna with us!! :)

A Very Special Girl

My parents arrived yesterday afternoon and we opened a couple of presents.
This one was from Timothy.
He made her a card and gave her a bird feather.
The next present was from my parents. They gave her lots of little things she likes. White Grape Peach juice, small bags of her favorite chocolate candy, a movie that Sarah had asked for, and a portable charger for her iPod.
Everyone looking on as she opens her box of goodies.

Sarah is a very special girl. All her siblings think she is the greatest! She does a great job at making them all feel special. When she woke up yesterday morning and she came downstairs they had made her a Happy Birthday banner and hung it over the table.

Sarah requested that she make her own birthday cake, this girl loves to bake! On Wednesday night a lady at church gave Sarah a Two-Tone cupcake maker and a spring form pan. Yesterday Sarah made the cupcakes for her birthday instead of a cake. She will ice them today and we will enjoy them tonight with family as we celebrate Sarah's birthday! Sarah has asked for spaghetti pizza for her meal tonight. I am very thankful for God choosing me to be Sarah's mother. My prayer is that I can be a godly example of a woman, wife, and mother to her. Love this girl!!

Last Day of School

Last week we had our last day of school! We did our school half a day and had half a day fun day!!
Here are the students at Camp Christian Academy
Part of our school on the last day was an Olympic Unit Study. We learned about archery and decided to practice ourselves. Here is Isaac taking a shot.
Sarah shooting an arrow. Isaac and Sarah used her bow and arrow that she got for her birthday last year.
Here is Elijah using his bow and arrow that he purchased last year at Crockett Days.
Timothy using Elijah's bow and arrow.
Joanna taking her turn...looks like she has her eyes closed.
Then we played a few water games! Lots of fun on a hot day!
Then the kids were to find nature things and make a tic-tac-toe board and play a few games of that together. Here is Sarah and Timothy's board.
Isaac and Elijah's tic-tac-toe game
Joanna and I were partners. This was lots of fun!!

4th of July with the Camps

We left Sunday afternoon and headed down to AL, spent the night with Bryan's parents, and had a fun time on the 4th! Thought I would share a picture of Pop and Gigi with their grandkids!! :) Thankful to live in a free country and for all those who fought to make it free. More than that I am thankful for Jesus who laid down His life so we could be free from sin. Thank you God for freedom from the bondage of sin! My chains are gone, I have been set free!! That is the greatest freedom!!

A Flower Girl

Back in Febrary our Youth Minister's fiancé asked Joanna to be her flower girl in their wedding. It was so sweet! She gave Joanna a beautiful pick box with some "flower girl" goodies in it and a note taped to the inside. The note was asking if Joanna would be their flower girl. Joanna said "yes".
Of coarse she really didn't have a clue what she was saying "yes" to. Joanna has never been to a wedding and saw a flower girl. There was lots of laughter in our home as we watched our boys try to explain to Joanna what she would be doing in the wedding. Isaac told her that when she go to the end she would throw the remaining flower petals on the groom. LOL!!
Here she is at rehearsal. Joanna and the other flower girl quickly became friends!
Here are our two beautiful girls at the wedding. The bride-to-be also asked Sarah to sit at the guest table where everyone came in at. Sarah did a great job in making sure everyone signed the guest canvas, got a program, and direct them to where they could get some water. The wedding was outside at a golf coarse.
Here is Joanna ready to go!
Here is the box and note they gave Joanna.
Here is a picture of Joanna with the Groom and Bride during the reception. (Sorry this picture is blurry, it was outside and it was dark.)

A Day with Friends

When made lots of friends during our ministry at SMBC. One of the families we became friends with was the Lambert family. We were able to see God call them into the ministry, head off to seminary, and are now pastoring a church. It has been a blessing to see God at work in their lives and how their family has blossomed. They were able to come visit us Wednesday and it was great spending time with them! They went to church with us and the Husband led our Bible Study in Nehemiah 8.
They have three beautiful and precious little girls. One of their girls is a few months younger than Joanna. Her and Joanna had the best time playing together! The older daughter is a little younger than Elijah and she enjoyed spending time with Sarah. Our Sarah is great about playing and spending time with all age kids. Sarah does a great job at giving them attention and making them feel special.
Here is their baby daughter. She is precious! She got right in there and played with all the girls. Can't wait to see them again!
