Happy Resurrection Day!

Our prayer is that Resurrection Day yesterday was full of celebration for you and your family. The tomb is empty and Jesus is ALIVE!! My family is healthy and together! We have freedom to worship God with other believers in a church building! God is good ALL the time! Lots of reasons to celebrate!!

Field Trip

We have been having Read Across America this week. We started our week off with a field trip to the Battle Of Franklin, tour of the Carter Home. Isaac and Sarah have been studying the Civil War so we thought this would be a great place to visit. We plan on going again and visiting the Carnton Home.
For lunch we stopped at Burger King.
Here is our burger Queen!
For a treat we stopped by Krispy Kreme. Then it was 15 minutes to the Carter Home.
Here are the kids out back of the home. Standing in front of the slave cabin. It was not an original from that farm. When the Confederate army took over the farm for a base they tore down the original slave cabins and used the lumber for building a blockade.
Here is a picture of the back of the Carter home. The smaller building directly in back of the home was the kitchen. This was a very informative tour. Bryan is a history guy and he really enjoyed the tour and information.

The Children and Their Animals

The kids have really enjoyed their animals. It has been great to watch them play, take care of, and enjoy their own animal. Thought I would share pictures of each animal with its owner.
Sarah with Little Ann
Joanna with Charlie (she is part owner because Joanna will tell you that Charlie is her and Elijah's dog)
Timothy with Stormy
Elijah with Charlie
Isaac with Old Dan

4-H Posters

In the fall of 2014 we joined a 4-H homeschool group and have been participating in several 4-H activities. The first project of each year is a promotional poster. Wanted to share some of those posters with you.
Here is Elijah's first promotional poster. He was in the 2nd grade so his poster could only compete in our group.
Here is Elijah's poster from this year. He received a blue ribbon for this poster.
Here is Sarah's poster from this year. I didn't get a picture of her poster last year. She received a blue ribbon for both posters.
Here is Isaac's poster for this year, he got a blue ribbon. I didn't get a picture of his poster from last year but he received a blue ribbon for it also.

We have enjoyed being a part of 4-H. The second project the kids are to do is a speech. Isaac and Sarah both won the county 4-H speech contest both years. They went on to multi-county contest and did very well at that level. Sarah came in 4th in her grade for both years and Isaac won both years in his grade. Very proud of both of them!!
