A Yard Sale

The last weekend in April we had a Yard Sale with some friends of ours. Bryan and I both are really wanting to down size and get rid of some things. It seems that when we moved we just boxed things up and didn't really go through things and weed out. Also after being married almost 16 years we have accumulated a lot of STUFF. As we began getting ready for the yard sale Isaac and Sarah wanted to participate too. They don't have alot of things they are willing to let go of so adding items to the sale was not working. I asked them if they would like to bake something and sale that at the yard sale and they were very excited. Since the Yard Sale was going to be in the morning we came up with the idea to make muffins for the bake sale. On Friday morning they sold Apple muffins. WOW! This went really well and they had lots of fun! Sarah even made a few dollars just by being her sweet self! :) It went so well that we made more muffins for Saturday morning, twice as many! Saturday morning didn't go as well, but they still were able to sale most of them and we got to eat what didn't sale. :) My goal was for this to be a leaning time for Isaac and Sarah, I think it was good for them!

We did pretty good ourselves with getting rid of a few things and making a little money. The Yard Sale was part of working on my Spring Goals, spring cleaning. Feels good to start down sizing and living a simpler life! :)
