The Wood Floors

We have been so blessed with our home and are very thankful for all that God has provided! When we first started talking about flooring we were going to go with laminate wood which we have had at a previous house. Then God blessed us with these white oak wood floors...amazing! The boards came from a lumber yard and arrived in 14 foot boards. Bryan and our contractor decided that the best way to lay them would be cutting them into smaller boards.

Below is the boards in place with no coating on them.
Below is the "Water lock" being applied to the floors.
Below is the final flooring in the Living Room area (with paper down to make sure the floors were good and dry before we walked on them too much).
The floors took way longer to lay and were more challenging to lay than we thought, but we are super pleased!! Love the flooring! VERY thankful!

Isaac's Second Deer

Back in November Isaac killed his second deer! He was so excited and we were proud of him. :) It was a spike and we are enjoying some good ole deer meat. YUM!!

Another Addition to the Family

We have adopted a dog. This is Charlie. :) While in AL we picked him up from my uncle who knew that Charlie needed more room to run around than his subdivision back yard. Charlie was so hyper when we picked him up. Since being here he has calmed way down and has even lost some weight. :)
That brings our grand total to 3 dogs and 1 cat.
Here is a picture of the dogs laying in the sun. It was an adjustment at first but now things are good. All the animals get along and Isaac has done a great job training the dogs. At night he will say "Go to bed." and they all three go to the dog pen. Amazing!

Counter Tops and Kitchen Sink

We chose to use granite counter tops in the kitchen. Found a place in Columbia that had a good price and something we liked.
We originally went with a large stainless steel sink. When they put in the counter tops the hole for the sink was not centered with the window. The countertop guys had to come out and grind the sink hole bigger to make it right. There was not a bigger stainless steel sink so they had to give us this black one. We love it!! I really like not having the divider in the middle. My big griddle will fit right down into the sink. Very pleased. :)

Kitchen Appliances Arrive!

Not sure I have ever been so excited to get kitchen appliances! We have not had our own kitchen appliances in a year and we were supper ready to get some!
We purchased Fridgedaire freezer and refrigerator.
Kitchen Aid dishwasher. After having to wash dishes by hand while livving in the camper this is a treat!
Kitchen Aid microwave and range. I had to get started baking right away. We have been very pleased so far with our appliance purchases. These items have been put to great use since the day they arrived. :)

Stormy

I wanted to share pictures and a little information on one of newest additions. Meet Stormy!
When Sarah was 3 and Isaac was 5 we got a kitten. Named that kitten Meowy and she was the best cat ever! We lost her due to the fire...she was in the basement where the fire started and when we got to her she was blind and scorched. The vet put her down that night. We all were heart broken.
God brought another kitten into our lives in October and we are so thankful! Joanna is 3 and Timothy is 5 when Stormy arrived. Timothy actually was the one who heard the cat crying the night we took him in. He is one spoiled cat.
All of us are crazy about this cat. The dogs have even grown to like the cat. :)
We let him in the camper some. If it was up to the kids he would be an inside cat.
I think he will be both an inside cat and an outside cat. Stormy is about 9 months old now and doing well. Amazing how God works!
