My first...
sewing projest. I have had a desire to learn to sew and be able to sew Sarah a dress or something. But I have never really tried and the one time I did try...let's just say I have NO clue of even where to begin. Well recently I have felt that I needed to learn to sew so I could teach my children to sew, something I never learned. So I decided I should start somewhere. I had heard that the simpliest thing to make would be a "pilow case" dress. Well I came up with the material on clearance at Wal-Mart, some thread and an idea in my head of what it should look like. Well you can see in the pictures the outcome...it's not perfect but it is a start. What do you think?

Curls, Curls and more Curls!!!
Sarah with rollers in her hair!
After we took the rollers out but not fixed...
The final "Do", back view.
I love that girl!
Right around the time Elijah was born we had started sponge rolling Sarah's hair some. The first time we did it and took the rollers down she was so upset because the curls were much tighter than she had thought but once we fixed it she loved it!! Since the boys (Elijah and Timothy) were born we haven't done it often. Well Saturday we sponge rolled her hair and I took pictures and thought I would share them with you all. This time she wasn't crazy about having the rollers in her hair, she said she looked like a "Grandma", but once we fixed it she was excited!! I thought it looked really cute. She got lots and lots of compliments at church. Her hair is naturally curly but as it has gotten longer the curls have straightened. When she has curls it reminds me of when she was little! Let me say that she is a very pretty girl but her heart is even prettier!! I love the curls but I love that girl with the curls much much more!

I love this...
One of the fears of homeschooling is, will you be able to teach your kids how to read! I had this fear myself and just really didn't know what the kids would learn and if they did learn would they be at the "right" reading level. Well, God is sooooo good and I thank Him so much for giving me the wisdom and knowledge to teach my children....to read. As you can see in the picture Isaac has developed a love for reading! For Christmas he got several books and has already read one and started on another one. Before Christmas he was reading The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and finished it in about 2 weeks! And I am not talking about small books...the Huckleberry Finn book had 16 chapters and the one he just finished had 20 chapters! He will be reading without me even having to tell him. I can not tell you the joy I feel to see him and Sarah read and not just r-e-a-d but to love it! One thing that is awesome is to hear them read God's Word! During our Family worship at night Isaac and Sarah have a turn to read and they do so well. My prayer is that they will have a hunger not just to read God's Word but to live it out...But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22.

Happy Birthday!!
Today is my wonderful hubby's birthday!! Yes, he is another year older. And I love him more today than I did the day we got married. I wanted to share with him and all of you some of the reason's I belive makes him wonderful....
1) He is a man who loves Jesus
2) He serves the One True God
3) He is selfless (He treats me like a Queen)
4) His greatest desire is for his children to know God, serve God and be God-fearing men and women
5) He leads the kids and I in following Jesus
6) He is a husband that makes it easy to be his help mate and I love it!
7) He helps me in raising the children (he is my cheerleader in homeschooling and discipline...and he does more than his share)
8) He has a passion to lead others to Jesus and to disciple them
9) He is GREAT about helping around the house even without me asking him to!
10) He is the best father to our children, he plays with them and helps take care of them!
I hope you get the picture Bryan of just how special you are to me and how much I Love You! On the day you were born I know that God created you just for me. I could not ask for a more perfect mate. You are so special to many people and I know that as others read this they KNOW that what I said is true. My prayer for you today is that God would fill your day with blessings and that you would know you are loved and feel loved by your family and friends! I Love you Bryan....Happy Birthday!
One last thing....to all those who are reading....Bryan shares a Birthday with our sister-in-law, Candice. She is just a couple of years younger than Bryan (Ha-Ha). So....Happy Birthday to you too Candice!

9 months old!
Timothy climbing on Isaac
Timothy helping me clean out my cabinets
Timothy showing off his "false" teeth
I know I have posted this a million times but I am going to say it AGAIN...I can't believe how fast time goes by. Timothy turned 9 months old on the 8th of January and in 3 months he will be 1 year old!! Sorry I haven't posted in so long but have I mentioned that time is flying by? Timothy is crawling everywhere and pulling up and letting go at times to stand all by himself. WOW!! I will share this...he is NOT sleeping at night and I am exhausted!! I have prayed til I am sure God is tired of hearing the same ole...same ole! I have tried everything under the sun and nothing is working! Any suggestions? This too shall past! He is still the ctest and sweetest thing and I just love that little boy to pieces!
On another note....today is my birthday and I am another year older...but don't feel it! Also my sweet hubby's birthday is Thursday! It is great to share the same birthday month...we get to celebrate twice as much!! Happy Birthday Bryan...I love you very much!
I am hoping to post more later if I just so happen to get a free minute...literally a minute is all I will probably have. Until next time....

A nugget of God's truth...
I haven't posted in awhile about things God has spoke to me through His Word...so I thought now is a good time. I have been reading through Ecclesiastes and the other day as I was reading chapter 9 something just jumped out at me. Look at Chapter 9 verses 5 & 6...
For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; Nevermore will they have a share In anything done under the sun.
What I felt that God was revealing to me is that once I am gone from this earth I will no longer have a chance to make an impact on anyone...even my children! Did you get that? ...Nevermore will I have a share in anything done under the sun. I know even more clearly now that I must make an impact on those around me (especially my children) and I can either make an impact for Jesus or for the things of this world. I also realized that others have that chance to make an impact too...on me and my family. I feel that it is up to me to impact my children for the glory of God! After I had read this in Ecclesiastes I saw the following statement on someone's blog...
From kindergarten to 12th grade children spend 14,000 seat hours in learning. Whoever controls these hours controls these children. -Voddie Baucham
OK so I know that not everyone is called to homeschool their children...but think about that statement...ask yourself who is controlling your children...who is making an impact on your children?
I wish I had the time and I could just open up my heart on this blog...but that would take way too much time...so here is just a little of my heart! May I encourage you with this...do all you can to make that impact on your children (I believe for Jesus is the best impact) because when you pass on, you won't be able to make that impact any longer.
Some things that I feel led to do this New Year to make that impact is...
1) Read the Bible more
2) Pray more specifically for my children
3) Pray more specifically for my husband
4) Laugh more
5) Pray more often for others
6) Tell more people about Jesus and how He changed my heart
7) Honor others
8) Enjoy my family more
I would love to hear from you and know how you will make more of an impact this Year!

Fun, Fun, Fun!!
Bryan got Isaac, Sarah and Elijah to go outside with him and help in the yard today. They were cleaning up the yard of limbs and brush. Bryan got out the wheelbarrow so they could throw things in and then take it and unload. When I looked out the window I saw Bryan jogging with the wheelbarrow and the kids in it! All of them were having a blast!! I just loved to hear them laughing and having so much fun! Bryan is a wonderful Daddy, he does fun things with them all the time. As you can see on their faces in the pictures this was better than Six Flags! It does my heart good and fills my cup to see my family spending time together. I feel so blessed in so many ways and I am looking forward to all that God has in store for my family this New Year! Happy New Year!
